I. Offshore Job Positions – Qualifications and Experience

General Qualifications applicable to all positions:

JD 8 ASSISTANT SAFETY OFFICER The Assistant Safety Officer acts under the authority of the Safety Officer and has the authority to stop or question any unsafe act by following procedures and also direct positive action as described by STOP training.

  • Experience of helicopter operations

JD 27 MEDIC A Medic must carry out SBM medical policies and ensure that the pharmacy and sickbay are stocked as per SBM standards, and ready for medical requirements. He must also ensure medical administration is current accurate and confidential as appropriate.

JD 29 RADIO OPERATOR A Radio Operator is responsible for ensuring radio communications are carried out effectively and
for first line maintenance of communications equipment.

JD 4 MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT The Maintenance Superintendent assumes responsibility for safety, financial, logistical and operational aspects of maintenance activities and is responsible for the competence of those under his immediate supervision.

JD 6 PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT The Production Superintendent assumes responsibility for safety, financial, logistical and operational aspects of production activities and is responsible for the competence of those under his immediate supervision.

JD 5 CARGO SUPERINTENDENT The Cargo Superintendent has authority for marine activities such as cargo loading and offloading. He will work with the Marine Superintendent and the OIM as required where the safety of the crew and vessel is concerned.
  • STCW Reg II/2 (Master Mariner-Unlimited) plus DCE for Petroleum /Gas as appropriate
  • 5 years sea service on Crude Oil Tankers, (VLCC preferred) with at least 3 years as Ch/Officer. Additional experience at Master rank preferable.
  • Knowledge of tanker terminal activities.
  • Very good communication skills in English

Additional Preferred:
Good knowledge of offshore FPSO operations, including Production, Process, Utilities, Marine Maintenance, and Safety Management, preferred.

JD 46 MOORING MASTER The Mooring Master assumes complete authority for berthing, mooring and unmooring operations.
He is responsible for the readiness and overall maintenance of the offload floating hose system and tandem hawser system.
He is responsible for training staff in tandem offloading operations when required to do so.
When not engaged in mooring operations he will carry out senior administrative duties on the FPSO as required by the OIM.
  • STCW Reg. AII/2 (Master Mariner Unlimited) plus DCE for Liquid Petroleum.
  • Proven 3 years Tandem Berthing experience at open sea berths or internally Qualified Berthing Master, (QBM) Berthing vessels up to 350,000 DWT tonnes.
  • 5 years sea service on VLCC with at least 3 years minimum at rank of Master.
  • GMDSS unlimited G.O.C.

JD 28 STOREKEEPER The Storekeeper is authorised to maintain accurate stock records and ensure availability of
spares. He is responsible for the output and competence of the Assistant Storekeeper
  • 3 yrs experience in the Marine or Petroleum Industry with FPSO experience preferred.
  • Experienced with PC-based materials inventory control systems. AMOS preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of materials, purchasing and stock management procedures
  • Qualified to trade or technician level in a technical discipline

JD 38 ASSISTANT STOREKEEPER The Assistant Storekeeper is authorised to ensure stock is identified accurately, stored, moved and distributed according to procedures.

JD 23 ICSS SPECIALIST An ICSS Specialist is responsible for ensuring allotted work is carried out safely and efficiently
and with due regard to security of access to DCS SCADA logic software and Programmable
Logic Controllers.

JD 15 ELECTRICAL SUPERVISOR Safety, competence, and maintenance related to electrical systems and equipment, subordinate personnel, subcontractors, inspectors, and external and ad hoc services. He will liaise effectively with other key management personnel.
  • Preferably qualified to at least HNC / HND, or NVQ Level 3 or recognised equivalent. in Electrical Maintenance Engineering
  • Minimum 5 yrs experience preferred, with 3 years offshore petrochemical experience desired

JD 24 ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN The Electrical Technician is authorised to maintain electrical assets and systems to the level

JD 25 INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN An Instrument Technician is responsible for ensuring allotted instrumentation work is carried out safely and efficiently and that his supervisor is made aware of all activities according to procedure, especially where safety is an issue.

JD 17 MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR The Mechanical Supervisor is authorised to ensure the timely repair and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in mechanical Engineering preferred. OR Chief Engineer Certificate as per STCW Reg AIII/2
  • Minimum 5 years offshore experience of which 3 must be at supervisor level
  • Extensive experience in maintenance of oil pumps, gas compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal), water injection pumps, and power generation equipment
  • FPSO experience desirable
  • Fully experienced with PTW and Risk Assessment Techniques
JD 26 MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN A Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring allotted mechanical maintenance and repair work is carried out safely, efficiently and according to procedure and that his supervisor is made aware of all activities, especially where safety is an issue.

JD13 ENGINE ROOM SUPERVISOR The Engine Room Supervisor is specifically responsible for the operation and maintenance of Engine Room equipment and systems and also the competence of those under his immediate supervision.
  • STCW Reg.III/2 Chief Engineer Unlimited Certificate (Steam and Motor endorsement preferred), (DCE for Petroleum/Gas as appropriate)
  • Experience as Chief Engineer on VLCC preferred and at least 2 yrs as 1st Engineer.
  • Experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon processing and utility systems desirable.
  • Computer literate in MS „Office‟ software packages and experienced on maintenance management systems. Experience in Permit to Work Systems.

JD 32 MAINTENANCE OPERATOR The Maintenance Operator acts under the Authority of the Assistant Maintenance Supervisor
and/or Engine Room Supervisor as appropriate. He may be expected to perform maintenance, welding, machining, pipe and mechanical fitting and related activities. Depending on his qualifications, he acts as the Junior Watchkeeper.
Maintenance Operator Grade 1

  • 3 years experience in shipping as a watch keeping Engine Room rating, STCW Reg.AIII/4, or EOOW STCW Reg.
  • AIII/1 OR general maintenance skills including fitting, and Coded Welding qualification.
  • VLCC /Large Seagoing Vessel Engine Room or FPSO operations experience desirable.

Maintenance Operator Grade 2

  • 3 years experience in shipping as a watch keeping Engine Room rating, STCW Reg. AIII/4, or EOOW STCW Reg.
  • AIII/1 AND general maintenance skills including fitting, and Coded Welding qualification.
  • VLCC /Large Seagoing Vessel Engine Room or FPSO operations experience essential.
JD 9 PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR The Production Supervisor assumes responsibility for safety, and operational and maintenance aspects of production activities and is responsible for the competence of those under his immediate supervision.
  • Proven experience and/or qualified to N/SVQ Hydrocarbon Processing Operations Level 3 or local equivalent.
  • 5 years offshore experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience as Production Supervisor/Lead Technician

JD 19 CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR (CRO) The CRO is authorised to control and adjust the automated process safely to maximise production
efficiency, and to coordinate permits and related isolations for maintenance
  • 5 years minimum in Hydrocarbon processing operations with 2 years as CCRO and appropriate mix of operational, and supervisory experience.
  • Offshore Personal Survival, Management of Major Emergencies, Medical certificates.
  • Good level of troubleshooting and operations knowledge including interpretation of P&IDs and C&E charts.

JD 20 PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN The Production Technician is authorised to operate the process and utility systems safely and
efficiently and help to prepare such plant for maintenance.
  • Proven experience and/or qualified to N/SVQ Hydrocarbon Processing Level 2 or similar qualification level from country of origin.
  • 3 years experience of hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.
  • Knowledge of ESD F&G and DCS operation.
  • Good understanding of Permit to Work, Mechanical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment
JD 21 LABORATORY TECHNICIAN A Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring the product specification is correct in terms of BS&W by sampling and analysis. He has specific responsibility for ensuring chemical stocks and rates are maintained at appropriate levels and that sample reports are communicated effectively.
  • Qualification in Chemistry required.
  • 2 years experience as a Lab Technician in the hydrocarbon processing industry. (FPSO experiencepreferred)
  • Practical experience of Permit to Work, Mechanical Standards and Risk Assessment.
JD 12 ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor is specifically responsible for the operation and maintenance of Engine Room equipment and Process utility systems controlled by the Engine Room and also for the guidance and familiarisation of those under his immediate supervision.
  • Qualified to EOOW STCW Reg AIII/1
  • At least 1-year experience as Watch keeping Marine Engineer (steam turbine watch keeping experience preferable).
  • VLCC experience preferred.
JD 11 MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR The Maintenance Supervisor is specifically responsible for the maintenance of Engine Room
Plant, equipment and systems and also the competence of those under his immediate supervision.
  • STCW Reg. AIII/2, 1ST Engineer (Steam/ Motor / combined preferred ) Certificate /National equivalent (DCE for Petroleum/Gas as appropriate).
  • At least 2 yrs as 1st Engineer ( either on Steam or Motor Vessels).
  • Fuel gas boiler firing experience highly desirable.
  • Experience in Safety and Environmental Management Systems
JD 10 CARGO SUPERVISOR The Cargo Supervisor assumes delegated authority for marine activities such as cargo loading and offloading and cargo utilities and maintenance. He or she will work with the Cargo Superintendent and the OIM as required.

  • 3 years VLCC experience as OOW ( Officer on Watch) – Chief Officer experience desirable.
  • Previous FPSO experience would be an advantage.
JD 34 GP FOREMAN The GP Foreman will exhibit a high standard of supervisory and safety behaviour and will ensure that all aspects of shipboard deck maintenance, rigging, slinging, storage, housekeeping, and general duties are carried out safely and effectively by his team. Delegated tasks will be monitored and controlled formally and effectively.
  • STCW Reg. AII/4 mandatory minimum requirements..
  • 5 years experience in ocean-going vessels of which at least 2 should be served as Bosun on VLCCs

JD 31 CARGO OPERATOR The Cargo Operator is authorised to carry out cargo loading and offloading and maintenance of

JD 36 GP OPERATOR The GP Operator has authority to carry out shipboard maintenance under the direction of the GP Foreman. The GP operator will ensure the safety of himself, team members, visitors and
subcontractors within the limits of his responsibility.

JD 35 CRANE DRIVER The Crane Driver is authorised to operate the crane and lifting equipment and perform first line
maintenance.
  • Recognized qualification of Competence in Crane Operations. (Level 3)
  • Experience in crane operations on mobile offshore units.
  • Rigging slinging and general deck experience
  • Certification as per STCW Reg A II/4 preferred.

JD B Operations Engineer
  • To assist and support the Operations Manager for all operational issues relating to the assigned Unit(s).
  • To ensure the provision of necessary technical assistance from internal departments and appropriate bodies such as manufacturers, classification societies etc.
  • To assist in monitoring operations and provide day-to-day support on the operation of the allocated Units.

  • Follow up accident investigation action items.
  • Monitor Regulatory Compliance of the Shore base and the FPSOs and report
  • Recognised formal safety qualification equivalent to the NEBOSH General Certificate in Safety Engineering. Also recognised formal qualification in Environmental audit.
  • At least 5 years in safety related activities, 3 of which should have been served offshore in the field of safety. Experience in environmental issues is recommended.

  • Responsible for continuous professional crewing of the Operations Office and Offshore Unit.

  • Ensure that the Operations Office and Offshore Unit manning procedure is followed at all times including correct certification, training, competence and succession planning of the crew is maintained in compliance with the local law and company regulations at all times.
  • Minimum 10 years in personnel related sectors.
  • Previous experience in the marine or petroleum industry highly desirable.
  • Degree qualification preferred.
  • Ability to travel internationally (short term), including offshore.
JD L Training Supervisor
  • Plans, coordinates and conducts general and specialized employee training, educational and development programs to cover safety, technical, production (OTS Simulator) and statutory training requirements, such as SBM MS Training Matrix, STCW 95 and others.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in business or related field with two years professional personnel experience required, or master’s degree required in business, human resource management, or related field with personnel experience preferred; proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications required; public speaking experience required; strong written Portuguese/English communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills for coordinating the multiple functions and planning of the training department.
  • Familiar with offshore safety and technical training requirements and valid certificates.
JD M Material Logistics Coordinator
  • Follow up all shipments to our platforms
  • Liaise with freight forwarder and customs broker
  • Graduated in Business Administration and good knowledge about International Market
  • A minimum of 02 years of experience on Import and Export processes
  • Understanding about local Customs Regulation
  • Intermediate English
JD N Accountant
  • Proceed received invoices, prepare invoices, up-date accounting provisions, prepare balance sheet reconciliation, prepare tax payment slips.
  • 3 years accounting experience.
  • Graduate in Accountant
  • PC literacy.

JD O Warehouse Coordinator
  • Responsible for local control of all materials and equipment received from/sent to the FPSOs and Shore Bases in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry and as a warehouse team leader.
  • Familiar with inventory systems.
  • Desired fluency in English.
JD P Warehouse Helper
  • Assist Warehouse Coordinator for local control of all materials and equipment received from/sent to the FPSOs and Shore Bases in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • At least 1 years of experience as a store keeper in the Oil & Gas Industry;
  • Familiar with inventory systems;
  • Required basic in English
